Ninety-Nine Statements

1. My astrological sign is Scorpio.
2. My favorite colors are purple and green.
3. If Dyson made other home appliances, I would buy THEM ALL, providing they work as well as their fabulous vacs.
4. I never imagined my mother would not live to meet my children and watch them grow up.
5. The most relaxing scent I know is the combination of eucalyptus/laundry detergent smell in the air outside my health club (just before I drop my children off at the clubhouse!).
6. The Capresso Team Luxe coffee grinder/maker rocks.
7. When my eyes open in the morning the first thing I want (other than more sleep) is a cup of coffee with cream & Splenda.
8. My grandmother Louise was my hero.
9. The strength of my love for my husband and children is sometimes overwhelming to the point of bringing tears to my eyes.
10. I NEVER used to cry, but meeting and marrying my one true love, literally ANYTHING will make me well up.
11. Lavender is my favorite candle scent.
12. My iPod still has the original set of songs on it from when my husband gave it to me as a gift.
13. I HATE smoking and the smoke it produces.
14. Intentionally misspelled words grate on my nerves (Kountry, kwik, etc.). It's one thing to make a mistake, but to do it ON PURPOSE makes no sense.
15. I love to organize.
16. I like ironing: you take something ugly and make it pretty with relatively little work.
17. I would rather snow ski than eat.
18. The thought of losing my husband or children frightens me immensly.
19. I truly believe the probate process brings out the true nature of relatives.
20. My favorite time of day is just before dawn, before anyone else is up.
21. Lung cancer (or any kind for that matter) sucks.
22. I adore the feeling of my babies moving inside my belly, and miss it after they are born.
23. At the moment my second son was born I IMMEDIATELY knew I wanted more children.
24. I firmly believe what my Granddad said: "You can't listen yourself into trouble."
25. I don't often wear perfume since having children, but when I do I prefer green, clean scents.
26. The older I get, the more opinionated I am, but I'm also better at keeping my opinions to myself and consequently a better listener.
27. I thorougly admire women who give birth naturally, but can't imagine why anyone would want to, given the marvelous pain relievers available.
28. I believe in an omnipotent, omniscient, loving God, and my faith journey is a central focus of my life.
29. I am a bit controlling/obsessive when it comes to what my children eat.
30.I clean my own home and cook the majority of our meals. (But I truly miss my former housekeeper Alicia, bless her heart!)
31. Laundry will take over your life if you don't stay on top of it.
32. I dislike ginger and fennel.
33. I love fried chicken livers with cream gravy....yum!
34. I have learned over the years that my stress exhibits itself as skin irritation....and I haven't yet found a way to stop it.
35. I treasure my fire engine red Suburban, and although I feel guilty about the inordinate amount of gas it guzzles, its convenience/space/comfort are fantastic, and balance out the bad in my mind.
36. I hope the trend from 26 continues.
37. I believe you never really know what you want in a house until you live with it for a while, and discover what you need that's missing.
38. I can caulk, tape and bed dry wall, and locate studs (the wood kind) like a pro.
39. Renovation is fun.....in retrospect.
40. I believe everyone is good at something.
41. I don't understand parents who don't discipline their children.
42. The current litigious nature of our country troubles me deeply.
43. I mourn the loss of the concept of personal responsibility and wonder what happened to the description "just an accident".
44. The idea of W reshaping the Supreme Court deeply disturbs me.
45. I believe everyone can benefit from joining and being active in a faith family....whatever your beliefs.
46. I believe people are basically good.
47.NPR is the station playing in my car 99% of the time, but I don't always pledge.
48. I wanted to be a professional clarinetist when I was in HS.
49. I took 8 years of piano lessons (5-13), got good enough to win a couple of competitions, hated every lesson, quit....and wish now I hadn't.
50.Still have my best friend from elementary school.
51. I should do a better job at keeping up with my friends.
52. I genuinely like my inlaws.
53. I have deep sympathy for those affected by addiction.
54. I have been assaulted and came out relatively unscathed.
55. I have broken my right wrist twice, and 9 toes (at the same time...a platform diving accident).
56. I was a competitive swimmer & diver as a kid.
57. I wish my the effects of sun damage and the benefits of sunscreen had been known when I was a child.
58. I use sunscreen on my children regularly enough that they call it "lotion".
59. I am not as empathetic as I think I should be...I'm more of a quit-your-whining-and-get-on-with-it kind of gal.
60. I will always be grateful to cousin DD for helping me get started on cleaning out my Mom's house after she died.
61. I wish my husband traveled less.....

63. I am immensely grateful that I have the option of staying home to raise our children.
64. I try to keep in mind that we're not just raising little boys, but future husbands and fathers, and that keeps my perspective straight.

72. I wish someone would market (& I would subscribe to) pay-per-view TV service - not just sports & movies, but all channels - then I could choose what I want.
73. I am not a "producer" when it comes to lactating, and felt guilty about that with my first child, but not anymore.
74. I read the newspaper everyday.
75. I am a Democrat and I vote.
76. Playtex & Gerber make the ONLY sippy cups worth spending money on.
77. Over the course of my pregnancies I have craved movie theater nacho cheese, hot dogs, fried chicken, Rocky Road ice cream, capers, broccoli, dried apples with string cheese, and currently, milk, shrimp and peanut M&Ms.
78. Miscarriages are painful for everyone involved.
79. I miss my career sometimes, but not enough to put my children in daycare.
80. I hate having dental work done.
81. I have (mostly) current digital photo albums for our family & each child, but I have yet to actually print any of them out.
82. I don't particularly like to shop, except for ebay, groceries & online.
83. I dislike tchochkes.
84. I'm not sure what I would do without my laptop and wireless network.
85. I love that I can look at my kids and see parts of myself, my husband, and specific members of each of our families.
86. I believe in public education, but disagree strongly with the voucher system and NCLB.
87. I look forward to the day that the ages of my children do not dictate that my home look like a petting zoo.
88.I RARELY buy clothes for my kids any way but second hand.
89.I am a Law and Order junkie.
90. If I had a different career I would be an architect/designer of schools.
91. I love math. Didn't as a kid, but do as an adult.
92. I can cook up a storm and sew most things I want to.
93. I've only had my kids' photos taken professionally once, at the mall in one of those catch-you-walking-by-free-sitting things. I like to do it myself.
94. Sometimes I tear up when just looking at my family for no apparent reason.
95. Before having my kids, I could never conceive of the concept of child abuse. Since having kids, I have seen that line....would never cross it, but totally see how those with little self-control could.
